The YouTube Tag « Thread Started on Oct 17, 2008, 9:14pm »
I guess I should have mentioned this earlier, but ProBoards has enabled a YouTube tag to allow for embedding of YouTube videos directly in board posts. The way to do it is to press the "Tube" button in the tag toolbar (1st button on the 2nd row) which will generate (youtube) and (/youtube) tags. Then you can cut and paste the YouTube link between those tags.
NOTE: It seems the YouTube video must allow embedding or it will not play within the post. I'll keep checking though.
Some simple rules in using the YouTube tag:
1. Embedded videos fall under the same guidelines for content as normal posts. If you think that the content of the video that you want to embed might be even a little questionable, think twice before putting it up.
2. Try not to go overboard in the number of clips you embed in one post. We don't want people scrolling down for days. For example don't post every CF that Jeong Ji-hyun has ever been in. I would say more than three would be pushing it. Use regular URLs if you have a lot of links to share.
Alrighty then, I think we can have fun with this within the rules...one thing bad about the YouTube tag is that this isn't so effective any more:

Unfortunately now I see that YouTube tag brings a crappy Google ad alongside the embedded video. I guess it was inevitable. So we will see how this goes.
