Hawaii Made movie about K-drama ajumma « Thread Started on Jan 27, 2009, 8:57am »
Hello--sharing exciting news-- All of us here enjoy K-drama-- one fan is going to "step it up"-- A Hawaii film maker is producing a K-drama movie-- Please share this information as he needs help with various things-- See message below--aloha
EXTRAS NEEDED FOR HALLYU WAVE INSPIRED "SHORT" FILM FESTIVAL SUBMISSION: Produced and written by well experienced Local Hawaii - Filmmakers. This short film is inspired by the current Korean Hallyu Wave and popularity of K-Dramas, movies and DVDs here in Hawaii. This film is a tale of three women/best friends whom find out that their favorite K-Drama-Superstar from Korea (fictional) is giving up acting to pursue a singing career. The women are excited to discover that he is coming to Hawaii to shoot his debut music video.
In the film there is a DVD Store Scene which calls for fictional DVD covers and movie posters (non copyrighted images). The fictional DVD cover props are to show to the audience that our Mega-star from Korea starred in a great number of films and K-dramas.
We will be formatting images taken at an upcoming photo-shoot into fictional props. Those props will then be featured in the above mentioned DVD Store Scene as well as other areas in this short film. Please see the breakdown below. We are also looking for additional talent and extras for consideration to be in the actual short film. There will be an International Airport Arrival Scene in which we will need lots of Hallyu Fans!
This film is targeted for national and international film festivals and partly inspired from the unique and bonding experiences of the Hawaii International Film Festival when HIFF and other sponsors bring in a Korean Superstar. This film follows the misadventures of the three women in their 50s trying to hunt down and meet their Mega-Star from Korea.

Hello-- Michael Park is here in Hawaii !!! Calling all "Parkie" fans.... see him in his new music video!!! HUH??? Who is Michael Park??? He is the star of local boy Brent Anbe's movie "Ajumma" filming now at various locations here in Hawaii-- "Ajumma" tells the story about our (k-drama fans) addiction to Korean drama. Gonna be a great movie. Let me share my amazing eye opening "being an extra in a movie" experience. Currently my favorite k-drama star is Kim Hyun Joong...("We Got Married" w/ Hwangbo, Ji Hoo in the mega hit "Boys Over Flower" and leader for the boysband SS501) I love this 4D young man!!! He is unique to the max-- He walks my belief "WHY BE NORMAL?" anyways to connect and continue with this post... If the short scenes that were shot yesterday is a sample of the kind of work, effort and energy required to make a movie... then no wonder Kim Jyun Joong lost weight and fainted so many times during the making of the drama... I am so tired--- I feel like I ran a marathon-- aigu (those who know me .... yeah it is age HA!!) my point being.... hard work to make a drama or a movie!!! While on a Beauty Touch Korean Tour, I visited a set where a drama was shooting.... at that time I was impressed with the amount work I witnessed but to actually be in a scene with numerous "back to one" and start again "set up" was a challenge. Kudos to all who work in the entertainment business.... Perfect coordination of the technology, physical setting and cast involved is a balancing act that requires movie expertise and endless retakes. To repeatedly bring the same level of energy to each scene with every retake is unbelievable.... take after take- doing the same thing with the same feeling necessary is not for me--HA!!! First hand knowledge and participation is one heck of a life lesson. I gained more respect for the people involved in dramas and movies.. Imagine the amount of work each star and supporting cast member must produce when in a historical drama/movie-- "out of sight"!!!( a slang that must really put me in the age category) Yesterday's experience is just another "good thing" added to my bag of "all things Korean".... my passion for k-drama lead me to meet all kinds of interesting and memorable people who enrich my life.... k-drama is a fantabulous fun springboard to better and more awesome experiences.... Second reason for this long post.... some of us on this board may want to join others who share the same passion for k-drama in person... some would like to just meet here in the forum- I cut down my involvement in some k-drama activities but I am still passionate about all things Korean... I still support and promote participation in all things Korean and the Hallyu movement in Hawaii when my health allows SO if you want to get together with fun and friendly people.... Hallyu Friends Fan Club is for YOU!! I founded "Hallyu Friends" and lead the club in the earlier days...but now all club business is handled by a new energetic president who is one heck of a great "go getter" She and her officers do all the hard work.... I sit back and just ENJOY..... The club is alive and well. Being a member of this club allowed me to "meet and greet" real Korean stars as well as have first hand scoops about Korean drama fun events. Join us--" Try it .... you'll like it" ssorry for the long post--aloha

AJUMMA! ARE YOU KRAZY? Source: hawaii.bside.com AJUMMA! Are you krazy? is a zany comedy that follows the misadventures of three Korean drama fanatics. Fueled by their schoolgirl hormones, the hopelessly romantic Ajummas, Judy (Thea Matsuda), the lovable and innocent heroine, Susan (Tessie Magaoay) the raunchy tough one, and Amy (Cari L. Mizumoto) the sassy tart, go on a hilarious journey to try and meet Korean super star Michael Park by stealing his itinerary, breaking into his hotel room, and sneaking on to his music video set. Witty writing, a light-hearted story and a likable cast allow this short film to succeed in taking a humorous look at the K-drama phenomenon and what some ladies will do for a crush.
