Macsnooder,
MUCH thanks for those great links! LBH sure looks good and nice to hear that a Korean star finally made a notable presence in a Hollywood movie. Still have to go and see it....maybe today. since it is so humid this morning, maybe I can go and heat up a movie theater too!!

I saw G.I. Joe last week...overall as a movie it was OK. Your average summer action "popcorn" flick. Nothing groundbreaking but not the worst movie ever. I'll give it three out of five stars.
LBH had more lines in the movie than I thought he would. They were all short phrases here and there but I think he pulled them off well. I saw some comments on one site where they were accusing LBH of being dubbed in English by someone else, but of course we know that it is his real voice! I guess that's a backhanded compliment of sorts to be accused like that. According to one online interview he said that he signed on for three movies, so if a sequel is green-lighted he should be back. We shall see...but for now, good job LBH!
Yes. A Storm Shadow figure. SHIRTLESS. « Reply #92 on Sept 23, 2009, 10:55am »
Yeah, finally got around to watching this one, too. Gosh, really good; I mean, when a film makes you look FORWARD to a sequel, it has got to be good.
I thought the story was tight and the action was there. MAN this was missing at major points throughtout the summer. GI Joe movies forever, please. Let 'em make Stallone's Rambo team up with 'em. I can just see a violence of The Rambo being done up while the GI Joe team watches in shock.
OK . . . GET ready folks . . . there is are additional "waves" of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra action figures arriving . . . and yes . . . wait for it, wait for it . . . there is . . . you ladies get ready, please . . . A SHIRTLESS LBH/Storm Shadow action figure called Storm Shadow Arctic Pursuit or Arctic Assault :wowee:, somewhat, some other. Now, it is basically the Storm Shadow figure once he gets cut sashimi-style by ol' Snake Eyes from their last battle. The one that The Man has seen (at a few of the Walmarts here on Oahu) features Storm Shadow's mask on (I'll wait; go on an "booooooooooooo!!!!" ladies).
But . . . as The Man understands it, there is a VARIANT of the figure with, yes, again, as The Man understands it, LBH's face.
Guess that says it all. Good hunting all. Whoever manages to get this elusive (I actually don't know if it exists or not, but, I've heard enought talk to suspect), please post up, onegaishimasu on the board if can (can, Mace? ).
EXCUSE ME, BUT, WHAT!? You've read something related to Korea and/or East Asia? Heh, please report to the "Ch'aek [book] Report" and share your find! I know, I know, The Man himself has yet to contribute a report on an actual book yes, I know, coming soon (I think).

Does that mean that there will soon be a "The Man" action figure with background graphics from the Plumeria Training Hall?!?!? Will keep an eye out for it as I search down those elusive LBH dolls!

Ok, here's some REAL news about Lee Byung Hun!
Check out the LBH pix on the Dramabeans website for the upcoming LBH drama, IRIS! Can't wait to see this one--I think it was LBH who said it was like filming 20 movies--each episode was like a movie by itself!

Yeah, I had to cross quote since the Dream thread wouldn't allow any replies, much less quotes. <sigh> I guess some people's comments are more exclusive than others, huh?

FINALLY got to see GI Joe with LBH! Was totally surprised at how I got so interested in it despite the viewing conditions!
I was on a plane between Shanghai and Incheon Monday and it is a new show Korean Airlines put on for viewing in November (was not on when I flew to China in October). However you know how difficult those viewings can be with the small personal screen in front of you and an audio that is either garbled, too loud or just bad. Well, as soon as I got the right language selected and the show going, it quickly had me absorbed in the story line, although there were parts that I still do not understand! Between all the pilot interruptions, I only got to watch 1/2 of it and was bummed trying to figure out if I would see it on the Incheon-Hawaii leg.
As soon as I boarded that flight, I looked into the Entertainment magazine and it seemed like it would not be showing. As soon as we were air-borne, I quickly went into the menu and there it was. So for the next almost 90 minutes (interruptions etc) I was finally able to finish the show!
Enjoyed LBH's role and was surprised with the English he used quite well. Think they gave him a fair amount of screen time too. Would have loved to see this on the big screen but I blew those opportunities. But did he really die or will he be re-incarnated for a sequel?
I must say, action shows like that one are not my cup of tea, but even with out LBH in this one, I think I would have still enjoyed it a lot!
Also, is the DVD out yet? Might consider buying this one now!

Dvd ($15.99) was released yesterday. I ordered the Blu-ray version along with The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 Blu-ray from Amazon.com. Both were 50% off Amazon.com's price so the cost was $19.99 each with free shipping. Should be here in a couple days.

Thanks for info. Found out that Blockbuster has it so might go that route first.

Ahhhhhh! To be in Japan on Dec. 17 . . . wouldn't THAT be a great Christmas gift?!?
From allkpop.com: As Christmas approaches, there will be a special present for the Japanese fans as you'll see four of Korea's top actors at the Tokyo Dome in December.
On December 17th, Top Korean stars Lee Byung Hun, Song Seung Hun, Won Bin, and Jang Dong Gun will gather together at the Tokyo Dome for a special Hallyu event titled 'Hallyu's Four of A Kind.' The four actors are experiencing their popularity rising in Japan and the tickets despite the high prices (upwards of $175) are going to be a hot commodity. Most people think that any one of the stars could sell out the Tokyo Dome but to have all four at one place would basically make it assured. In fact, the demand seems to be so high that they will hold two events on December 17th, one at 12:30 PM and the other at 6:30 PM. The First Lady of Japan, Miyuki is also said to be an avid Hallyu fan and will most likely be in attendance. Tickets for the event will go on sale November 28th.
The four stars recently gathered in Seoul for a photo shoot:
